Alistair Bastian - Eye picture frame folder
First one from the 2022 Adelaide Knife Show - and it's a show stopper! Alistair Bastian's work is simply breath taking and his skills in the forge are mind blowing! This "picture frame" flipper boasts mosaic damascus blade with tiomascus scales and mother of pearl inset (am I the only one that sees an eye in there?). Topped off with two part stainless kaleidoscope filework back spacer.
Alistair Bastian Timascus
Another one from the 2022 Adelaide Knife Show. In the world of knife making, Alistair Bastian is both an artist and an alchemist. I can't tell you what spell he used to create this marvel, but I can reveal the ingredients. The blade is mosaic damascus, the scales are Tidamascus, bolsters are Bastanium and that backspacer is two part stainless kaleidoscope filework pattern. Every piece Alistair creates is unique, and once the conjuring is complete, he breaks the chalice to start from new.
Jackson Rumble
From the 2022 AKG Melbourne Knife Show. Easy to see how Jackson Rumble won the "Best Forged/Damascus Knife" with this amazing bowie. If you can tear your eyes away from that 1075/15n20 mosaic damascus blade, you may also notice damascus fittings with sterling silver highlights and the fiery red Desert Ironwood handle. 10" blade and 15.5" overall length.
Wayne Barrett of Wade Knives
Some makers have a signature style, that makes their work recogniseable from ten paces away, so if you haven't guessed already, this can only be the work of Wayne Barrett of Wade Knives. Displayed at the 2022 Sydney Knife Show, this "buffalo grip" all damascus take down stiletto is 260mm overall length and sports 160mm blade
Mark Cordina
Another one from the 2022 Sydney Knife Show, this one comes to us from Mark Cordina of Cordina Customs. When you look at his work, it's easy to see why he was awarded "Best New Maker" at the Show. Few are brave enough to tackle a "takedown" construction knife, but Mark nailed it in his signature style! This Sujihiki style slicer features compound grind on W2 blade, bolster is Messmate burl, faceted rosewood handle with 200 layer damascus Cu Mai spacer. This beast measures 475… See more

Mark Cordina of Cordina Customs

Ian Stewart of "Two Feather Forge"
Another one from the 2022 AKG Melbourne Knife Show. Ian Stewart of "Two Feather Forge" took home "Best Every Day Carry Knife" trophy with this marvelous little thing. Sure, a "barrel knife" may not be everyone's first choice for "EDC" - but maybe that's because they haven't seen one close and personal? The barrel is Ringed Gidgee, bound on either end with bronze ferrules with matching liners. The blade is maker's own "explosion pattern" 1084 and 15n20 damascus. Same damascus can be seen on the spring and ring end, while the ring itself is sterling silver. This was Ian Stewart's first attempt at a barrel knife, crafted under instruction and guidance of Corin Urquhart
Andrew Blomfield
From the 2022 Queensland Knife Show. This curvaceous black beauty is the unique creation of Andrew Blomfield Knives, Andrew claims sole authorship of all the work. Featuring Ringed Gidgee handle and blade forge from 1095 high carbon steel, but the real star of the show for me is that black coating. The combination of hot salt bluing and rust bluing over a highly polished finish seems deeper than the Mariana trench. Overall length is 40cm with a blade length of 27cm.
Andrew Blomfield
My personal purchase from the 2022 Queensland Knife Show. Andrew Blomfield was only weeks away from becoming ABS Journeyman Smith when he displayed this double edged mosaic damascus bowie. Featuring hot-blued guard, damascus spacer and stabilised, gold dyed oak burl handle on take-down construction. Complete with snake skin inlaid leather sheath. #thisiswhyimbroke
Adam Fromholtz
Another one from Adam Fromholtz at the 2022 Sydney Knife-Show. As far as cake knives go, they don't come much fancier than this! There's a lot going on here to take in. It starts with that mind blowing Takefu ya-shoku san mai blade with V-Toku 2 core. The handle is tiger myrtle with polished 416 Stainless and brass bolster, frame and fittings.
Dominic Binker -t Zac Cheong
This one's a bit special. Our old mate Zac is not making knives for now and Dom (BD Blades) has picked up a lot of equipment and materials from him. Among these was this tiny little blade that Zac has started grinding out of Damasteel but never got any further. So, Dom decided to re-imagine this into a knife that could've been. This is definitely one of a kind from Dom and I am glad to give it a home it deserves.
Bjorn Jacobsen
Bjorn Jacobsen is a name familiar to many of us in the knife making community, but did you know he's also made two or three knives of his own? Proof is right here and it's undeniable! The blade is forged from 14c28n stainless steel and the handle is stabilised turquoise maple burl. Looks good enough to be in a Nordic Edge catalogue! 😉
Mal Hannan - Otis knives
Another one from the recent 2022 AKG Melbourne Knife Show. This lovely little gem comes from the talented hands and mind of Mal Hannan (otherwise known as Otis knives. The polished 440c blade is backed by 416 Stainless bolster, guard and pommel with Russa deer antler handle. Engraving by Phil Vinnicombe. Blade is 5 1/4" long, overall 9 1/2".

Joe Brunetta - Gooball Knives
Sometime big things come in small packages, like this little guy. It's proud maker, Joe Brunetta has had to overcome more obstacles than most of us, which makes this, his first finished knife, truly impressive. Using stainless Damasteel "Vinland" pattern, York Gum Burl handle with domed pins, this is stout little knife represents BIG achievement. Well done mate!
Francois Mazieres (Yandiwa)
This is just stunning! Francois Mazieres (Yandiwa) crafted this Nakiri style blade with 18 twist damascus core, 316 stainless steel and nickel cladding and a pronounced "S" grind. The curvaceous handle is made from cast mammoth with 416 Stainless bolsters and G10 spacers. Displayed at the 2022 Sydney Knife Show

The damascus blade was forged by Rian Doudle using 1080 and 15n20 and pure nickel. The knife is 215mm long and a 95mm blade and a fully tapered tang, it has nickel silver bolsters and corby rivets red G10 liners and a ringed gidgee handle.
